I really love Сarl Bengtsson's work as it shows a great link with period settings mixed with a contemporary feel. I like the eeriness in the photographs below, I think the lighting and the use of black and white makes the photograph look spooky. I think the hair and make-up makes the model look contemporary whilst the location and dress looks from a different era. I think the composition works to make the model look more skeletal and almost ghostlike. I don't think this would work for my photo-shoot as I was to bring about a fun, exciting feel to my photographs. However this is a good way to mix the styling with period dress.

I like the photographs below as they show a strong use of colour in what would otherwise be a very dark set. I like the richness of the photographs and think they work particularly well in a extravagant location. I think the clever placing of props such as the handbag in the first image and the use of colour around really compliments the photograph. I think its the models pose that makes these photographs look contemporary. This technique to the photographs I think would work best indoors however if the location is glamorous enough it may also work outside.

These last photographs are completely different to the above photographs. They are very soft and beautiful which makes the clothing stand out despite being very plain. I think the hair-styling could be a good way to present a wig-type Georgian look without being too over the top.
